  • Jonathan Cliff

Next Generations Ministry Pastor at Trinity Church in Lubbock, TX

    Conference Focus - TBA

    More about Jonathan Cliff…

I am currently serving at Trinity Church in Lubbock TX as the Next Generations Ministry Pastor.  I lead a fantastic team that’s committed to creating an intentional strategy for reaching the next generations of the church through children’s ministry, student ministry, and college outreach. I am a huge advocate for the family and I believe that the family is God’s primary way of reaching the world.

It’s always been my prayer as a children’s pastor and as a father that kids learn to see the world as their mission field and begin to use the gifts they’ve been given to make an impact on everyone around them. I’ve held Children’s Ministry roles since March of 2003, and in January of 2011 recently moved into a more mentoring role over other family ministry areas of the church.

I am the faithful husband of Starr and the father of two sons and one daughter (Ryan, Dylan, and Lauryn). Our family also fosters kids, so from time to time we have extra babies in our home that we help to reunite with their own families.  This desire was birthed out of a real desire to use our Children’s Ministry experiences outside of our limited church walls and into the greater Lubbock-area community.

My passion for ministry springs from my own desires as a father for my kids to fully know, hear, and respond to God’s voice. Everything I create, manage, and lead is led with the understanding that my own kids will experience the end product and environment.

  • Dr. Richard Ross

One of the primary driving forces behind the Faith at Home conversation

Conference Focus - Lab # 1 - Guiding Parents Toward Spiritual Awakening

Spiritually lethargic parents who become more intentional about faith at home will only produce spiritually lethargic children. Intentional faith at home activity does not, in itself, lead to spiritual depth. This workshop will prepare leaders to guide parents toward awakening in their own spiritual lives—so they can impact the next generation.

Lab # 2 - Impacting Children and Teenagers Through Heart Connections

After parenting seminars in hundreds of churches, parents consistently report that the teaching they remember the longest is this: The primary way your influence travels to your children is through a “pipeline,” a connection between your hearts. This session will prepare leaders to teach parents the strategic importance of the pipeline (a heart connection)—and which parenting approaches strengthen or weaken it.

Listen to a message from Dr. Richard Ross…

Lab # 2 - More than a Program: Making D6 a Part of Total Church Life

Ryan’s church has developed a national reputation for connecting church and home life in innovative ways over the past decade, but it doesn’t have a family ministry.  Instead, they have incorporated family ministry into every aspect of their vision and programming.

A leading voice for Faith @ Home in average size churches in America

Conference Focus - Lab # 1 - Leading and Developing a D6 Strategy In an Average Size Church

Jon Cannon, Founder and Senior Pastor of Victory Church in O’Fallon, Illinois is building a D6 model church. Victory constantly evaluates every ministry through the “D6 Lens” and is strategically driving faith back into the home. In this lab Jon will unpack his experience and strategy in leading and developing the D6 paradigm in an average size church. Jon will be sharing some practical ways for the average size church to become D6 churches and strategically drive faith back into the home.

Lab # 2 - Intergenerational Ministry - How to span different life stages in discipleship ministry

People today are typically broken down into categories based on the year they were born and assigned labels like the Baby Boomers, Busters or Gen X, Gen Y, and Millennials. Within the church, we are always concerned about ministering faithfully and skillfully to all age groups. And to do so we often separate members into groups based on age (older adults, middle
adults, young adults, teens, children, etc.). While this approach is sometimes helpful, I want to make a plea for us to emphasize and provide for ministry that is intergenerational.

I believe we need to focus on “Intergenerational Ministry.” This ministry focuses on helping Christians of all ages reach out with Jesus’ life-changing love to disciple young adults, teens and children. It is my belief and conviction that these ministries are most productive when they are truly intergenerational. By intergenerational I mean two or more different age groups growing and living in faith together. Intergenerational ministry is the epitome of the D6 command. D6 is the concept or the philosophy; iGen is the application of that concept! In this lab we will unpack iGen ministry.

Conference Focus - Playing Catch Up

Playing Catch-Up: A very quick look back at the last two year’s of D6 and how that has caused a much closer look at youth ministry in the local church.  Has the last 40 years in youth ministry been a failure?

If you are new to the D6 Conference, this session will help speed up the process of what has gone on in the D6 conversation for the last two years, and will address real issues within the youth ministry of local churches as they grapple with what effectiveness is and means for families, and local congregations.

    More about Allen Pointer…

Allen is currently in year 19 of a ministry adventure at First Free Will Baptist Church in Russellville, Arkansas. This process of going from analog to digital in ministry has included taking a long hard look at how youth ministry that does not tie back into the family and the local church is futile as best, and unbiblical at worst. Allen has tagged along with the Senior Pastor and the rest of the staff as they have tried to analyze and prepare a sixty year old church with a proven track record in ministry to take D6 seriously, and try to enhance a true family ministry concept, while keeping certain earmarks of youth ministry as a part of this core concept. The results? Well, it is in process.

Allen and his wife Jill will celebrate their 25th anniversary this summer, and have two daughers, Catie (17) and Christen (19). He also holds his MA in Youth and Family Ministry from Luther Seminary, in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Allen has taken his youth groups on over 25 mission trips here in the United States, France, Spain, and Uruguay. Every summer (since 1997) has found Allen leading the Truth and Peace Student Leadership Conference for Free Will Baptist high school students, the leading leadership training conference for Free Will Baptist teens, which is sponsored by Randall House.
